What are the characteristics common to all the arts in the Baroque period?
I am trying to find three or four characteristics peirod common in the Baroque (art, music, sculpture, architecture, painting).
In the arts, Baroque is both a period and the style that has dominated. The Baroque style used exaggerated motion and clear, easy to interpret information to produce drama, tension, exuberance and grandeur in sculpture, painting, literature and music. The style started around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most Europe. In music, the Baroque applies to the last period of the domination of imitative counterpoint, where different voices and instruments echo, but at different heights, sometimes inverting the echo, and even reversing thematic material – Wikipedia
